I was extremely satisfied with the the barrier free home plans designed by this company. I felt like they were holding my hand from start to finish.
I read the testimonial from Mr. Reardon, and had some of the same problems, but did not continue as deep as he had.

I tried one of those websites with thousands of plans trying to find a barrier free home plan my wife and I both could use, as my wife had a stroke and used a wheelchair most of the time. I needed a few changes to the floor plan and ask the company If they could make the changes. One of the changes would effect the foundation and the roof line. They wanted 400.00 for changes. I guess I could have accepted that.
And then I called my local zoning/planning dept. to ask what was needed for my plans to be submitted. They needed the plans to comply with the 2009 IBC code and an Architects stamp. When I was ready to buy my plans online, I asked them if they would meet the building codes and were they stamped? They told me that I could go to any Architect and they would take care of it for a small fee. WRONG.
The 2 firms I called told me basically, you get what you pay for, and would not help me. I called BFHD, and for a custom design that included all kinds of barrier free details, that I had not even considered, which all made perfectly good sense.
I got exactly what I had wanted for 200.00 more!
I can’t even begin to tell you how courteous and easy they were to work with. Sorry for being long winded, But as they say, buyer beware.

We have worked with Barrier Free Home Plans on several new home and renovations. Their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Their drawings were complete, understandable and went thru our planning/zoning Dept. 1st time. And thats unusual.
